There are a number of Wilkinson family lines in the United States. Most of them are unrelated it seems.
My William Wilkinson was born in North Carolina on June 24, 1794. He married Jane Butcher on June 25, 1813 in Ohio. William moved his family from Highland County to Sangamon County, Illinois where his first wife died about 1834. He remarried in Sangamon County to a widow named Jane Guthrie Powell. He then moved his new family to Jo Daviess County, Illinois where he died in 1873.
