The 1830 Floyd County, Kentucky Census

I have always admired the spidery handwriting of the 19th century, right up until I chose to transcribe this census. If you find that I have spelled your ancestor's name incorrectly, or that I put in question marks where letters should be, it's because I couldn't figure out what the letters were. I think this could have happened for either of two reasons. The first is that Mr. Harris just got tired at the end of the day and the second is that perhaps the nice people whose homes he visited gave him refreshment that either addled his brain or rendered him incapable of writing. For whatever reason, he made mistakes adding up totals and although I think that Samuel A. Underwood on page ten is close to correct, I could be off by a mile or actually an alphabet. The numbers are correct. I have checked and double checked them. So good luck! I hope this helps some of you who are still trying to find that illusive ancestor.
